Police make arrest - Domestic violence assault in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to a domestic violence incident in Alice Springs earlier today.

Just after 11am police responded to a report of a woman being physically assaulted by a man before being dragged into a vehicle at an address in Walpiri Camp.

It is further alleged the man drove off with the woman in the vehicle in a reckless manner, refusing to stop for police.

Police initiated a pursuit which occurred across the East Side, before stopping the vehicle in Charles Creek Camp. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to the Alice Springs Watch House, and it is expected he will be charged later today.
