Police Make Arrest - Domestic Violence At Tennant Creek 24 December

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 30-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence related aggravated assault that occurred in Tennant Creek last night.

At around 10:55pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that an adult female had been assaulted by a male believed to be known to her. It is alleged the male was armed with an edged weapon and stabbed the victim causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries to her head and face.

Police attended and conveyed to victim to hospital.

The 30-year-old offender was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
