The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 48-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence related assault that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday evening.
Around 6:55pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Sadadeen. It is alleged the 48-year-old had assaulted his partner with a glass bottle, causing injuries to her head and hand.
Emergency services attended and the victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The offender was arrested by attending police and remains in custody. He is expected to be charged later today.
