Police make arrest - Escapee in Alice Springs

A man who has been on the run for the past three months has been arrested in a remote community earlier today.

The 24-year-old-man was identified and arrested by Queensland Police, in a remote community near the Queensland and Northern Territory border just after 8am.

The man and a 23-year-old male accomplice escaped from an Alice Springs Correctional facility in November last year.

The 23-year-old man was extradited to Alice Springs after he was arrested in Mount Isa on unrelated matters, in early December.

The 24-year-old man will be transported to Tennant Creek today.
