Police make arrest following attempted carjacking - Mildura

A woman has been arrested following an alleged attempted carjacking in Mildura this morning (5 February).

Investigators have been told a 26-year-old woman had been sitting inside her car out the front of her Ashwood Court home when another woman approached her window.

The woman asked the victim if she wanted an icy pole.

When the victim declined, the woman allegedly produced a knife and asked her to get out of the car.

The victim beeped the horn to attract attention before running from the vehicle.

The woman allegedly got inside the car and police were called, arriving within minutes and arresting her at the scene.

The 30-year-old woman of no fixed place of address is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation is ongoing.
