Police make arrest over Glenelg East property damage incident, South Australia

A man has been charged with numerous offences following an incident at Glenelg East last month.

It will be alleged that just after 7.30am on Thursday 18 June, police were called to the intersection of Diagonal Road and Brighton Road at Glenelg East after reports a man was running in and out of traffic and causing damage to a car and a bus.

Southern District and Western District patrols arrived on scene and located the man who had been detained by members of the public.

The 37-year-old man from Glenelg South was then detained by patrols and conveyed to the Flinders Medical Centre by ambulance crews for a mental health assessment, where he remained under a treatment order before being released back into police custody.

Today (Monday 13 July) police interviewed the man and charged him with affray, disorderly behaviour and four counts of property damage.

He has been bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 28 August.
