Police make arrest over Sefton Park robbery, South Australia

A man has been arrested over a hotel robbery at Sefton Park and the alleged proceeds recovered by police.

About 11.50am on Sunday 19 January, police were called to a licensed premises on Main North Road, after a man allegedly armed with a knife threatened staff in the gaming room and stole cash.

He was last seen driving away in a vehicle believed to be a blue Mitsubishi sedan.

No one was physically injured.

Yesterday afternoon, Monday 20 January, detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch, together with STAR Group officers, arrested a 37-year-old Pooraka man over the Sefton Park robbery.

A quantity of cash was recovered.

Officers also located a blue Mitsubishi sedan, believed to have been used in the commission of the robbery. It has been seized for forensic examination.

The Pooraka man was interviewed by Western District CIB detectives and further charged with other recent break-ins and thefts at Nailsworth, Clearview and West Beach.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
