Police make arrest over unlawful entry in Alice Springs 21 March

A 40-year-old man who unlawfully entered a licensed premises in Alice Springs overnight, has been arrested.

Around 11:30am two people are alleged to have forced entry into the Todd Street business, where it is further alleged they caused criminal damage to bar fridges to access alcohol.

Staff were on premises at the time and disturbed the offenders, apprehending one man in the process before calling police.

A 40-year-old man was taken into police custody and transported to the Alice Springs Watch House where it is expected he will be charged with one count each of Damage to property and Aggravated enter dwelling intent to commit offence.

Investigations to identify the other person involved in the incident continues, and police urge anyone with information which would assist with investigations, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
