Police make arrest - Property offences at Nhulunbuy

Police in Nhulunbuy have arrested a 14-year-old male following a property crime series.

It is alleged that the male damaged vehicles before gaining access to a number of properties, stealing items in excess of $1700.

Senior Sergeant Daniel Whitfield-Jones said thanks to information provided by community members, police were able to quickly locate the alleged offender who was also in possession of the stolen property.

"Police would like to thank the community for their assistance," Senior Sergeant Whitfield-Jones said.

"The timely relay of information assisted us in locating the offender quickly and recovering the stolen property.

"Investigations are continuing and charges will be laid in due course.

"We believe this individual was also involved in a number of unlawful entries across the township."
