Police make arrest - Property offending at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to property offences in Casuarina yesterday.

Shortly before 7:00am, a group of youths were inside a shopping centre at Casuarina when they passed a barricade to a section of the centre that was closed.

While inside this part of the centre, the youths allegedly stole a number of items from multiple stores. Security onsite confronted the group before they fled the scene.

Strike Force Trident, general duties and dog operations engaged in a foot chase through Wanguri and Wagaman before apprehending and arresting the group.

A 15 year old was charged with three counts of trespass on premises and one count of stealing.

A 16 year old was charged with four counts of trespass on premises, one count of stealing and one count of serious breach of bail.

A 12 year old was charged with three counts of trespass on premises and one count of serious breach of bail.

A 13 year old will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said "This is fantastic work by our members who worked quickly to apprehend the offenders, who they chased on foot through several yards and over several fences."
