Police make arrest - Stolen vehicle - Nightcliff

Northern Territory Police have arrested two women in relation to the unlawful use of a motor vehicle overnight.

During the early hours of Sunday 12 February, police received a report of a vehicle theft on Casuarina Drive.

Police tracked the vehicle to a location in Nightcliff where they observed 4 women attempting to steal a second vehicle from a unit complex.

The offenders fled on foot and a short chase occurred before two women, aged 20 and 27, were apprehended and found to be in possession of stolen property.

Both women were arrested and later charged with:

• Unlawful use of a motor vehicle x 2

• Unlawfully possess property

• Possess / carry controlled weapon

The 20-year-old was bailed to appear on 9 March and the 27-year-old bailed to appear on 7 March before Darwin Local Court.
