Police make arrests after drug warrants

Detectives from North West Metro Regional Crime Squad have arrested a man and a woman following an investigation into cultivating and trafficking cannabis plants.

Over the last three days officers, with assistance from Southern Metro members, executed warrants in Seaford, Hampton Park, Braybrook, Keilor Downs, Berwick and Koo Wee Rup.

Over 300 cannabis plants were located along with six hydroponic setups.

A 34-year-old man from St Albans and a 33-year-old woman from St Albans were arrested in Koo Wee Rup on Monday morning.

They face a number of charges including traffick commercial quantity and cultivate commercial quantity.

Both were remanded in custody to January 2022.
