Police make arrests after firearms warrant - Blackburn South

Detectives from Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit, with assistance from Critical Incident Response Team members, have arrested a man and a woman following a firearms warrant in Blackburn South.

Police attended an address on Blackburn Road about 5.30am on 2 September and executed the warrant.

Five people were located at the premises and a man and a woman were taken into custody.

It is alleged police located drugs and imitation firearms on the property.

A 47-year-old woman from Blackburn South has been charged with possess drug of dependence and has been bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates' Court on 15 February.

A 49-year-old man from Blackburn South has been charged with possess imitation firearm, possess prohibited weapon and other offences.

He will face Ringwood Magistrates' Court later today.
