Police Make Arrests After Kew East Home Invasion

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three people following a home invasion in Kew East that has left an occupant with serious injuries.

It's alleged five unknown offenders have smashed a large window and entered the Oxford Street home around 4am.

The smashing sound woke a male and female occupant who were then confronted by the five intruders.

The husband and wife were put in separate rooms, the woman was put into the room where her two children were still in bed.

The husband was then stabbed multiple times to the head, face and arms.

Four of the offenders got into the victims BMW, the fifth offender left in the vehicle all the offenders arrived in.

The stolen BWM was located dumped on Christie Street in Deer Park.

Three offenders were arrested a short time later on Hamilton Street in Deer Park.

A 39-year-old man from the home was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A 34-year-old woman from the house was treated for minor injuries.

Two other adults aged 69 and 70-years-old in the house at the time were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two children, aged 2 and 3-years-old, and a fifth adult were not physically injured.

A 17-year-old boy, 24-year-old Caroline Springs man and 16-year-old boy are currently being interviewed as police continue to search for the other offenders.
