Police Make Arrests After Shot Fired At Para Hills

Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident at Para Hills this afternoon.

About 2.45pm on Monday 1 December, police were called to Liberman Road after reports of a disturbance in the street.

When police arrived, they discovered a shot had been fired causing damage to a vehicle parked in the street and its tyres had been slashed.

A man was arrested after running from the scene and was found to be in possession of a balaclava.

Police also recovered shot gun ammunition in the street, believed to have been discarded by the arrested man.

A 20-year-old man from Munno Para was charged with possessing ammunition, carrying an article of disguise, affray and hindering police. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Youth and Street Gang Detectives searched a nearby home connected with those involved in the incident.

As a result, a 25-year-old man from Para Hills and an 18-year-old woman from Salisbury East was arrested and charged with hindering police. The man was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow and the woman was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 9 February.

There were no reports of injuries.

Police would like to reassure the community that this was not a random incident, it is believed that the involved parties are known to each other.
