The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested multiple youths in relation to aggravated robberies in Darwin overnight.
Around 6:30pm, police received reports that 3 female youths had entered a bottle shop on Leanyer Drive and threatened an employee with a knife, damaged stock and fled the scene.
A short time later, the same offenders are alleged to have stopped a vehicle on Grassland Crescent, Leanyer, and attempted to steal it. The female driver was dragged out of the vehicle by the offenders, suffering minor injuries.
The victim was able to defend herself with the offenders fleeing the scene on foot with her mobile phone.
Casuarina general duties and officers from Strike Force Trident deployed to the area and arrested 3 females aged 12, 13 and 14, while also recovering the stolen phone. The youths remain in custody with charges expected later today.
In an unrelated incident at around 8:15pm, police also received a report that a male youth had entered a service station on Bagot Road, Ludmilla, armed with a knife. He threatened an employee before stealing a quantity of cash and fleeing the scene on foot.
Strike Force Trident are continuing to investigate the incidents.
