Police Make Arrests - Aggravated Robbery In Katherine 19 January

The NT Police Force has arrested two youths in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Katherine early this morning.

Around 5:50am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that a group of up to ten youths entered a service station in Katherine East, one of which was armed with an edged weapon, and allegedly threatened an employee at the location.

It is alleged the offenders stole the victim's phone and wallet as well as a significant quantity of cigarettes and other store items before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim did not report any injuries as a result of the incident.

Police attended and following patrols of the area, located and arrested two youths, one female aged 16 and one 13-year-old male.

Both youths remain in police custody and are assisting with enquires. They are expected to be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Eight offenders remain outstanding, and investigations are ongoing.
