Police make arrests over Virginia murder, South Australia

Two men have been arrested following a public appeal for information into the murder of Simon Middleton earlier this month.

Last night a 29-year-old man from Lewiston handed himself into Elizabeth Police station where he was arrested and charged with murder.

This morning, Major Crime detectives with support from STAR officers attended an address in Virginia where they arrested a 44-year-old man from Virginia without incident. He is expected to be charged with murder later today.

Both men are expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.

Despite the arrests, the investigation is ongoing and police are seeking to determine the role of others including a man and woman in the planning of the murder.

Alongside the arrests, police also searched a further seven addresses in Virginia, Lewiston and Andrews Farm.

Police continue their appeal for information into the murder and ask anyone to come forward if they noticed anybody acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Brady and Leach Street Virginia on the evening of Sunday 7 March or the morning of Monday 8 March.

Police are also seeking dashcam vision of the same area between those dates including vision of a 1998 Nissan Patrol South Australian registration WDA-262 in in Phineas Street, Virginia. The car has a broken rear left tail light.
