Police Nab Man Hiding in Roof After Devon Park Chase

A man has been arrested after attempting to evade police and hiding in a roof space at Devon Park this afternoon.

Police spotted a stolen Nissan sedan on Ashby Crescent at about 4.15pm on Saturday 13 June. When officers approached, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Multiple patrols, along with Police Dog Duke and PolAir, attended and searched the area.

Just before 5pm, police attended a home on Ashby Avenue where the man was located hiding in the roof space. He was directed to come down and arrested without further incident.

Checks revealed the Nissan sedan had been stolen from Ingle Farm earlier that morning.

The 36-year-old man from Ingle Farm was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and hindering police. He was also charged over several outstanding matters.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 15 June.

The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner at the scene.
