Police nab speeding motorcycle at Grahamvale

State Highway Patrol North police caught a speeding Harley Davidson motorcycle in Grahamvale near Shepparton this afternoon.

Officers clocked a motorcycle allegedly travelling at 137km/h in a 60km/h zone on Ford Road about 1.30pm.

Police intercepted the bike and spoke to the rider, a 22-year-old man.

His motorcycle was immediately impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1240.

The Shepparton man is expected to be charged on summons with exceed speed and other traffic-related offences.

This impound was part of Operation Compass, the state-wide road policing operation during the high-risk Easter holiday period.

Police are targeting impaired driving, speed, distraction, and fatigue in high-risk areas throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Operation Compass concludes at 11.59pm on Monday, 25 April.
