Police Nab Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Case, Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested two male youths in Alice Springs today in relation to an ambulance that was stolen from near the Northern Territory and South Australia border.

Around 7:45am this morning, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that the ambulance, being a white Toyota Troop Carrier, had been stolen from a community clinic in Indulkana, South Australia. The vehicle was allegedly travelling north on the Stuart Highway into the Northern Territory.

Alice Springs police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices on the vehicle in the vicinity of Anderson Road as it travelled along the Stuart Highway. The vehicle was successfully intercepted and two male youths, aged 13 and 14, were arrested without incident.

Both remain in police custody.
