Police Officer Charged, Central Region 26 March

A 50-year-old male police officer from the Central Region has been charged with child sex offences.

The former senior sergeant has been charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material, and three counts of using a carriage service to access child exploitation material, which relate to alleged incidents that occurred whilst off-duty.

He is due to reappear at Mackay Magistrates Court on June 19.

He was suspended from the Queensland Police Service, and subsequently resigned.
