A police officer will face court after the alleged assault of two people during a police operation in Sydney’s west earlier this year, NSW Police say.
The Professional Standards Command has been investigating the matter which allegedly occurred while police were trying to arrest a number of people in Dawson Mall at Mount Druitt in January this year.
As a result of the investigation a male leading senior constable, attached to a local area command within the North West Metropolitan Region was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice on Friday 22 September 2017.
The officer will face Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 3 November to answer allegations of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been suspended from duty with pay.
