Police officer stood down, Southern Region 1 July

A 51-year-old male senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.

Investigations are being conducted into allegations the officer committed acts of domestic violence. As a result of these investigations, the officer has been served with a Police Protection Notice and charged with common assault.

He has been issued with a Notice to Appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court in July for breaching the Police Protection Notice.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
