Police officers assaulted - Darwin

A Northern Territory Police Officer is undergoing x-rays today for an injury sustained while responding to a domestic related incident last night.

It is alleged that on police arrival, three persons were immediately hostile and extremely aggressive towards police who were attempting to resolve a physical altercation between the three at a residence in Millner.

Subsequent attempts to gain control of the situation resulted in both officers being assaulted with one knocked to the ground and bitten by an offender. The officer sustained a knee injury in the process.

A second officer sustained scratches and gouges to her leg.

Three females aged 17, 19 and 42 were arrested for offences including assaulting police and hindering police.

The investigation is ongoing.
