Police probe after break and enter in South Tamworth

Police are investigating after an aggravated break and enter in South Tamworth today, NSW Police say.

About 6pm today, police were called to a home on Myndee Avenue, following reports of a break and enter.

Police have been told that an unknown man entered the home and confronted the resident, a 76-year-old man, with a knife.

The unknown man demanded money, before fleeing the home.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Oxley Local Area Command commenced inquiries and would like to speak to a man they believe may be able to assist.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 152cm tall, of medium build with short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a grey shirt with dark coloured shorts.
