Police probe after firearms stolen in Walgett

Police are investigating following a break and enter in the state’s North West yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 5pm yesterday, a family left their property on Merrywinebone Road, Rowena, to attend a local event.

Upon returning to the property, about 11.45pm, the man noticed his dual cab Toyota Hilux was missing from the driveway.

The man will also allege he had nine firearms stolen from his gun safe, along with jewellery, war medals, ammunition, two fridges, a barbecue, tools and petrol.

Detectives attached to Castlereagh Local Area Command established attended and commenced an investigation.
