Police probe after girls approached by man in car in Fairfield

Police are investigating after three girls were approached by a man in a car in Fairfield earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 2pm on Monday (9 May 2016), three girls – two aged 16 and one aged 15 – were standing in a park on The Crescent when a car described as a white or grey sedan with a black roof, slowed next to them.

The driver of the car allegedly made some inappropriate comments to the girls before driving away. The driver allegedly returned a short time later and made some more comments before fleeing.

The car was last seen turning right onto Hamilton Road, from The Crescent.

The incident was reported to police from Fairfield Local Area Command and an investigation commenced.

Police are hoping to speak with a man who might be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance in his late 40s, with a large build, and short brown thinning hair.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
