Police probe after man stabbed in Ermington

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Sydney’s north-west last night, NSW Police say.

About 11pm today, emergency services were called to Betty Cuthbert Avenue, following reports a man was injured.

Police have been told a group of five people – two males and three females – armed with weapons, not further described, approached a 20-year-old man who was standing with a group of people on the footpath, when he was assaulted.

The man was taken to Westmead Hospital with a laceration to his right leg. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers from Rosehill Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Detectives would like to speak to two males and three females who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They are all described as being of Asian appearance and aged in their early 20s.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
