Police probe after man stabbed in Auburn

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at Auburn early this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.30am tomorrow, emergency services were called to a unit on St Johns Avenue, Auburn, following reports a man was injured.

Police have been told a 24-year-old man was stabbed several times from behind by two males inside the unit.

A 26-year-old woman was home at the time but not injured.

The 24-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established.

Inquiries are ongoing.
