An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was allegedly hit by a bus near Newcastle early this morning, NSW Police say.
Police have been told a 66-year-old man was at the intersection of Maitland Road and May Street, Islington, about 2.40am today when he was run over by a bus.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital with significant soft tissue laceration to his right arm.
Officers from Newcastle City Local Area Command have commenced investigations and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
