Police probe aggravated break and enter in Telopea

A man has been hospitalised following an aggravated break and enter at Telopea today, NSW Police say.

About 1.40pm today, emergency services were called to a house on Yurunga Street following reports of a break and enter.

Once at the location, police were told a man had returned to his home and interrupted an intruder who then assaulted him and fled with an amount of cash.

The victim, aged in his 20s, suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police established a crime scene at the location and conducted patrols of the area.

Detectives from Rosehill Local Area Command continue to investigate the incident and would like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20’s, with short hair and wearing a brown shirt and dark-coloured tracksuit pants.

Inquiries continue.
