Police probe aggravated break-in in Merrylands

Police are investigating an aggravated break-in at a home in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 12.30am (Thursday 18 October 2018), two unknown men have forced entry into a home on Earl Street, Merrylands, waking the occupants.

Police have been told the occupants, a man aged in his 20s, and a woman aged in her 30s, confronted the intruders, when one of them threatened him with a knife.

The pair fled the scene empty handed, and were last seen getting into a vehicle nearby.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
