Police probe factory fire in Botany

Police have launched an investigation following a factory fire in Sydney’s south-east earlier this evening, NSW Police say.

About 7.30pm today, emergency services were called to reports of a factory fire at Byrnes Street, Botany.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there’ve been no reports of any injuries.

A crime scene has been established at the location, which will undergo further forensic examination tomorrow morning.

Officers attached to Botany Bay Local Area Command are continuing their investigation to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are following multiple lines of inquiry and are urging anyone with information that could assist investigators to contact Crime Stopers.
