Police probe fatal head on collision in Bundeena

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following a fatal crash south of Sydney today, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 3pm today (Wednesday 1 November 2017), emergency services were called to Bundeena Drive, 2kms west of Bundeena, following reports of a crash.

Initial inquiries suggest a ute and a Hyundai Ascent collided head-on.

The driver of the Hyundai Ascent and sole occupant, an 82-year-old man, was unconscious and trapped in the vehicle.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, however, he died at the scene.

The driver of the ute, and sole occupant, a 52-year-old man, sustained a possible fractured leg, and was airlifted to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.
