Police probe fatal pedestrian crash in Carlton

A woman has died and a man has been left seriously injured after a collision at Carlton, in Sydney’s south, this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Just after 3.30pm today, emergency services were called to Carlton Parade.

A male, believed to be in his thirties, had been crossing Carlton Parade when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old woman.

As a result of the crash, the woman was thrown from the car. Despite the efforts of emergency services on site, she was unable to be revived..

The male was taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition being treated for suspected facial and internal injuries.

Local diversions are in place around the crash site.
