Police probe 'glassing' in Waterloo

Police are investigating an alleged ‘glassing’ at a hotel in Waterloo last night, NSW Police say.

About 9.50pm today, emergency services were called to a hotel on Botany Road, following reports of an assault.

Two men, who are known to each other, were treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 31-year-old man was treated for lacerations to his face and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

A 35-year-old man was treated at the scene for lacerations to his hand. He was taken to Sydney Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Initial investigations suggest the older man allegedly hit the younger man in the face with a glass.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
