Police are appealing for public assistance after a report of intimidating behaviour in Newcastle yesterday.
Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District have commenced an investigation after receiving a report about the actions of two males in a carpark off Memorial Drive, Bar Beach, about 5.50pm yesterday (Friday 24 April 2026).
Police were told the pair allegedly mimicked using a firearm in the area before leaving in a white Toyota Landcruiser prior to police arrival.
Officers have spoken to a 23-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy at a Jesmond address as part of inquiries.
As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone who was in the area who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident to contact Newcastle Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
