Detectives are appealing for information after several suspicious fires in the Upper Hunter.
In recent weeks, police and firefighters have responded to several fires in Muswellbrook where vehicles and property have been damaged.
The incidents include:
- About 2.30am on Saturday 6 June 2026, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on Carl Street, with damage sustained to the bonnet and engine block.
- About 2.30am on Monday 8 June 2026, emergency services were called to Roger Street following reports a caravan cover was alight. The caravan was not damaged; however, the cover was destroyed.
- About 2am on Thursday 11 June 2026, emergency services were called to Bridge Street following reports of a fire in a shopping trolley. The trolley was near a building that sustained exterior burn marks as a result of the fire.
- About 1.20am on Saturday 13 June 2026, emergency services were called to Cook, Newman and George Streets following reports three vehicles had been set alight. All vehicles sustained extensive damage and are unable to be driven.
Police believe the fires may be linked and are treating the incidents as suspicious.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fires.
