Police probe robbery in Petersham

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Petersham yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 5.20pm today, a man entered a hotel on New Canterbury Road and approached the bar manager, demanding money.

Police have been told the unknown man threatened the manager, before he took money from a till and left the scene on foot.

The manager, aged 21, was uninjured and contacted police.

Officers from Marrickville Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being about 185cm tall, of medium build, with a tanned complexion and dark facial hair.

The man was wearing a black-hooded parka with a white symbol, blue tracksuit pants, black ‘Nike’ runners with a white tick, and sunglasses and a scarf.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
