Police Probe Serious Toowoomba Hit-And-Run

Police have seized a Toyota Landcruiser believed to have been involved in a traffic crash in Toowoomba on 24 January 2021.

Officers located the vehicle thanks to information provided by a member of public and have now launched Operation Xray Divergence to investigate the historic incident.

The incident occurred around 2am on Baker Street at Darling Heights when the Toyota Landcruiser collided with a Toyota Camry sedan.

Following the crash the driver of the Camry, a 38-year-old Rangeville man, attempted to exit his vehicle but was dragged along the road when the Landcruiser attempted to leave the scene with the Camry attached due to the damage caused in the crash.

The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

Investigators are appealing to the member of public who previously provided information on the Landcruiser, as well as anyone with information or relevant footage to contact police.

A man was arrested, however released as investigations continue.
