Police probe single-vehicle crash in Richmond

Police are appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle crash in Richmond last night, NSW Police say.

Just before 8.40pm today, emergency services were called following reports a car had left the roadway on Castlereagh Road, travelled down a ditch, and hit a tree.

Police have been told the 23-year-old female driver swerved to avoid a kangaroo on the road.

She was uninjured and did not require treatment.

Her passenger, a 23-year-old man, suffered suspected broken legs and head injuries. He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police are urging any witnesses to come forward and contact Crime Stopers.
