Police probe stabbing in Engadine

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Engadine overnight, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 11.40pm today, a 23-year-old man was walking on Achilles Road, Engadine, when he was confronted by two women and three men.

An altercation broke out between the parties, and the 23-year-old suffered stab wounds to his upper leg and back.

The fight was broken up by a witness.

Two of the men and two of the women are believed to have left the scene in a Subaru Liberty and a Mazda 3.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended and are investigating the incident.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and took the 23-year-old to Sutherland Hospital for further treatment.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
