Police Probe Suspected Public Shooting in Orange

An investigation is underway following a suspected public-place shooting in the Central West overnight.

Officers attached to Central Went Police District were called to a home in Phillip Street about 9am today (Monday 6 April 2026), after the resident found damage to the front of her home consistent with a shot being fired.

Inquiries indicate the incident is likely to have occurred between 11pm yesterday (Sunday 5 April 2026), and 6am today. The resident, a 51-year-old woman, was not injured.

A crime scene has been established, and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
