Police put their foot down on dangerous drivers

Two probationary drivers will be back to square one after allegedly drag racing in Clayton this morning, Victoria Police say.

Glen Waverley police detected the two vehicles racing along the Princes Highway about 1.30am at an alleged speed of 159km/h.

The Ford and Mazda were intercepted, with P2 probationary drivers discovered at the helm of both.

Both vehicles were impounded at a cost of $878.50, with one of the drivers now having to explain to his dad why his car will be gone for a month.

A 19-year-old Noble Park man is expected to be charged on summons with offences including speeding, highway racing and drive prohibited/high power vehicle.

A 21-year-old Hampton Park man is expected to be charged on summons with offences including speeding and highway racing.
