Police release CCTV following robbery in Hamilton

Police have released CCTV following an armed robbery in Newcastle last month, NSW Police say.

Just before 9am on Saturday 25 February 2017, a man entered a business on Hassall Street, Hamilton South, allegedly armed with a knife.

Police have been told the man threatened the two staff members, before jumping the counter and taking an amount of cash from the till and fleeing the scene.

Officers attached to Newcastle City Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquires; police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with the investigation.

He is described to police as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 178cm tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue cap, black jumper, tracksuit pants and black ski gloves.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact detectives from Newcastle Police Station via Crime Stoppers.
