Police release CCTV footage following Coburg shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have released CCTV footage as they continue to investigate a shooting incident at a tattoo parlour in Coburg last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told two men attended the store on Sydney Road at about 10.30am on Friday 20 January.

A male customer was getting a tattoo when he was shot in the leg by one of the men.

Both men then fled the scene in a silver Mercedes sedan which was last seen heading south on Sydney Road, Coburg.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The car has since been located burnt out beside Darebin Creek off Plenty Road, Reservoir on Wednesday 1 February.

Detectives have charged a 36-year-old Coburg North man in relation to the incident, along with another shooting incident which occurred at a tattoo parlour in Glenroy on Tuesday 31 January.

It is believed the silver Mercedes was used in both incidents.

Investigators are now hoping to identify a second man allegedly involved in the Coburg shooting incident.

He is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s with dark facial hair.

He was wearing a hooded jumper with a camouflage cap.

Investigators have released a digital image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries and CCTV footage of the silver Mercedes.

Anyone with information about the shooting incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
