Police release CCTV images following assault at railway station in Maitland

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted at Maitland at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 1.10am on Saturday 15 September 2018, a 45-year-old man was approached by another man while waiting at Maitland Railway Station, before being punched in the face and kicked.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and located the injured man, who was treated by paramedics at the scene. He was taken to Maitland Hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the incident was launched and detectives have now released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, with fair skin, short light brown/ginger hair and facial hair.

He is depicted in the image wearing a patterned light-coloured short-sleeve shirt, tan shorts and dark-coloured shoes.
