Police release photo of person of interest - Cataract Gorge assault incident

Police have released a photo of a person of interest after an incident that occurred on the Duck Reach walking track at the Launceston Cataract Gorge on Sunday.

A female walker was assaulted by a man about 4.15pm yesterday as she was walking along the track near the old Duck Reach power station. She was not injured during the incident.

The man is described as wearing a khaki shirt, baggy track pants, being between 174 cm and 180cm tall, with blonde bushy eyebrows, fair complexion, blonde scruffy hair, of slim build weighing around 70kg, with a slender face and a pointed chin, aged in his early to mid-20s.

Launceston Police is requesting any witnesses who may have observed this man in the area to come forward and speak to police on 131444.
