Police renew appeal to locate woman missing from Sydney's west

Police are reappealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from Sydney's west, who has since been seen in the Eastern Suburbs.

Abirami Thadsanamorthy, aged 32, was last seen at an address on Newman Street, Merrylands, about 12pm on Saturday (15 October 2022).

When she could not be contacted, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were notified who immediately commenced inquiries to locate her.

As part of inquiries, police have established Abirami travelled by train from Merrylands to Central Railway Station, the day she went missing.

She has since been sighted at Westfield Shopping Centre on Bunnerong Road, Eastgardens, between 8.30am and 10am on Tuesday (18 October 2022).

Family and police continue to hold serious concerns for her welfare as she lives with a number of medical conditions.

Abirami is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, of large build, about 170cm tall, with black curly hair in a ponytail.

As depicted in CCTV, she was last seen wearing a blue dress with white spots, with a red shopping trolley and an RM Williams bag.

Abirami is known to frequent the Eastern Suburbs, in particular the cemeteries around the Coogee and Maroubra areas.
